A new state-of-the-art entertainment experience on EL AL flights

Entertainment programs are broadcast with streaming technology direct to passengers’ personal devices.

Now, for the first time on EL AL flights to and from destinations in Europe, EL AL passengers can enjoy an innovative entertainment experience on their own personal devices.

The new system, based on streaming technology, broadcasts VOD entertainment content direct to the passengers’ smartphones, tablets or laptop computers.

The service is already available on three of the airline’s aircraft and within a year EL AL will complete installation of the system on additional planes in its 737-800, 737-900 and 767 fleets.

EL AL CEO David Maimon said: “Continuing the renewal impetus, EL AL is one of the first airlines in the world and the first in Europe to offer streaming service on routes to/from Europe, providing an innovative informational and entertainment experience.  With entertainment such an integral part of flying today, we at EL AL undertook to invest in this state-of-the-art upgrade on our aircraft.”

EL AL is proud to present DreamStream – its new technologically advanced entertainment system!

For passengers to enjoy the entertainment system on their tablets or smartphones, they must download the DreamStream By EL AL application to their device. For laptop computers, passengers should download Microsoft Silverlight and check its compatibility on the EL AL website. The application cannot be downloaded after takeoff.

This unique entertainment system, called BoardConnect, won the Crystal Cabin Award in 2012 and the 2012 Apex Avion Award and was developed by Lufthansa Systems. Simple and user-friendly, the system gives customers full control in choosing films and programs at the time that suits them.
