The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) recently convened a meeting with the Dubai`s Economy Hotel Group which offered its assistance to train UAE nationals. The DTCM Deputy Director General, Hussain Ali Lootah, called the meeting a concrete step in public and private sectors collaboration and closer working relationship. By offering their assistance the emirate`s private sector has once again assured us that they are available when ever we need their support. This gesture has reinforced our confidence in them, said Mr. Lootah. He noted that the department is eager to attract more young UAE Nationals into the Tourism and Hospitality Industry by providing them with career guidance, skills and knowledge about this exciting and fast growing industry for the UAE. Nothing better than the people in the service industry providing training as local students will be benefiting immensely by capitalizing on the rich experience and expertise of their guides, added Mr. Lootah. In addition to this, various issues and relevant matters of two and three stars hotels were discussed. The meeting also stressed on further improving the over all standards of hotels in Dubai in order to boost the image of the destination.
