Hundreds of tour operators and travel agents from all over the world are set to descend on Glasgow – the host city of the 2014 Commonwealth Games – for this year’s VisitScotland expo.
Organised by VisitScotland, the country’s national tourism organisation, the flagship business-to-business event for the travel trade will take place in the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) on 17-18 April 2013.
More than 250 exhibitors from every corner of Scotland will be showcasing the very best the country has to offer, from hotels and castles to distilleries, golf courses and numerous other visitor attractions.
International buyers will have the opportunity to make appointments with exhibitors and add an exciting new Scottish addition to their tour itineraries. On the evening of Wednesday, 17 April, all international buyers are invited to a special networking event at Stirling Castle.
Buyers from international markets are hosted and, in addition to attending expo, they have the opportunity to participate in one of VisitScotland’s many group familiarisation (fam) trips.
Research from VisitScotland expo 2012 revealed that 88 per cent of international buyers will feature a place they visited in future programmes.
