VivaAerobus to adopt Navitaire passenger reservation services to help drive profitable growth

Move supports carrier’s vision to be a leading low-cost travel provider in Mexico and Latin America.

MINNEAPOLIS and MONTERREY, MEXICO – VivaAerobus has signed an agreement to implement Navitaire’s hosted New Skies passenger reservation and GoNow day-of-departure services to help boost sales revenue and provide greater flexibility for its customers.

A wholly owned subsidiary of Accenture, Navitaire provides technology and business solutions to the airline and high-speed rail industries. Its New Skies reservations system is a comprehensive airline passenger sales and management solution providing integrated Internet sales, mobile booking and check-in, ancillary revenue-generation, airport-check-in and streamlined boarding processes, as well as departure control and real-time reporting capabilities. The modular system offers broad industry connectivity to global travel agency systems, inter-airline and alliance codeshare services and customer self-service integration.

VivaAerobus chose Navitaire for its industry-leading technology platform and experience in providing passenger services to many of the leading global low-cost carriers and hybrid airlines. The move to Navitaire solutions should help VivaAerobus boost its sales revenue through the platform’s advanced ancillary sales capabilities and give the carrier greater flexibility to add new features to help fulfill its mission to make travel more affordable for customers across the region.

Launched in 2006, VivaAerobus serves more than 24 destinations across Mexico and the United States, with further expansion planned as the company takes delivery of 52 new aircraft on order.

“Navitaire’s scalable technology platform will help us expand into new markets as we continue to grow, and its proven ancillary sales platform will help us improve our bottom line,” said Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO, VivaAerobus. “Navitaire’s innovative solutions are well suited to our business model, and we look forward to joining the Navitaire community of the world’s leading low-cost carriers.”

David P. Evans, Navitaire’s CEO, said, “Navitaire welcomes VivaAerobus and the opportunity to support this dynamic airline in its drive to become a leading low-cost player within Mexico and Latin America. As VivaAerobus spreads its wings to serve more customers and new destinations, our solutions are ready to help them support sustained, profitable growth.”
