limehome now starts its market expansion in Belgium with a scheduled opening in the city of Kortrijk. The Benelux are of great importance for the expansion strategy. Eindhoven, Den Haag and Amsterdam are already available in limehome’s portfolio.

MUNICH – limehome, leading technology-based provider and operator of fully digitalized design apartments in Europe, will be opening its first location in Kortrijk, situated in Belgium’s Western Flanders region.

The company offers fully equipped suites that can be booked online, allowing full flexibility at the rate of a standard hotel room. Last year, the fast-growing scale-up received 45 million Euros in VC-funding.

The historic townhouse is located within walking distance of Kortrijks Begijnhof, part of the UNESCO World Heritage. The property’s restoration and refurbishment will start in summer 2023.

The project integrates 20 units on four floors, with apartment units between the size of 30 m² and 90 m². The opening is planned for Q3/Q4 2024. The apartments will be available for short-term or long-term booking, perfect for short city trips, longer vacation or work. The suites’ design along Nordic style lines will adapt to the townhouse’s protected interior. The apartments provide high-quality box spring beds and fully equipped kitchens.

limehomes partner on this project is Alphastone, an innovative Brussels-based investment and development company with a specific focus on durable and new real estate models. Alphastone has recently received a permit from the city of Kortrijk to convert the whole property into a hotel.

“Kortrijk not only convinced us by its architectural richness, but also as a partner of the Eurometropolis Lille–Kortrijk–Tournai, an important economic, scientific and educational as well as cultural center, situated at the crossroads of Belgium and France. This is ideal to kickstart our further expansion into Western Europe. Along with our previous openings in Eindhoven, Amsterdam and The Hague, we are strengthening our Benelux-portfolio in one of the most exciting regions of Western Europe”, says Ricky Bichel, Head of International Expansion.

“Alphastone is proud to contribute to the durable reinstatement of this piece of heritage, particularly thanks to the partnership with operator limehome who shares our vision for digitalization and innovation”, adds Valéry De Vos, Head of Development of Alphastone.
