The much-debated Olympic Village, the largest project set for construction, has been given a February 2004 completion date, said he committee construction director and reiterated that the project will be undertaken by the Labor Guild/Workers' Housing Organization (OEK).
The 2004 Games' managing director, Costas Bakouris, said the Games' budget currently stands with a 37-million-dollar surplus since the total expected income will amount to $1,607 million and budgeted expenses are expected to total $1,570 million.
Mr. Bakouris also said the committee will need 40,000 to 50,000 volunteers to organize the Games successfully, while 3,000 employees are already hired in projects related to the Games….
