Vayant clears the way for Kuoni

Powered by the Vayant OneSearch airfare pricing and shopping engine, the solution takes British Airways fares and rules loaded in ATPCO and converts them into the format used by Kuoni’s business systems.

SOFIA and LONDON – Vayant Travel Technologies, a world leader in B2B airfare search innovation, has implemented a solution for Kuoni Travel UK, since British Airways no longer distributes fares to the travel trade via paper.

Powered by the Vayant OneSearch airfare pricing and shopping engine, the solution takes British Airways fares and rules loaded in ATPCO and converts them into the format used by Kuoni’s business systems. Thanks to the solution, implemented in its entirety in 12 weeks, Kuoni has seamless access to British Airways fares for dynamic packaging, without relying on the former manual distribution and entry of paper fares.

The advent of ATPCO Cat 35 loading for special fares has benefited tour operators, streamlining processes and removing manual interventions that could lead to errors. However, to achieve these benefits may require tour operators to overhaul their business systems, with associated cost, risk and time for implementation and testing.

Boyan Manev, VP Business Development and Product Marketing at Vayant Travel Technologies, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Kuoni, one of the world’s most admired luxury travel brands, as a customer. Our solution removes the barrier for tour operators like Kuoni to take advantage of ATPCO Cat 35 automation.”

Trina Cotes, Head of Transformation at Kuoni Travel, commented: “Vayant’s efficient solution and project management meant we could react quickly to changes made by one of our key airline suppliers. The solution has allowed us to continue to operate effectively without expensive and complex changes to our core reservations platform.”
