Checkmate allows hotel guests to check-in remotely, request amenities, indicate room preferences, provide an arrival time, and upgrade their room.
SAN FRANSISCO, CALIF. – Officials with CheckMate, the latest in mobile check-in technology, announced that the company was awarded the Best Mobile Solution Award at the annual Eyefor Travel Social Media and Mobile Technology Conference in San Francisco.
CheckMate also was a 2013 PhoCus Wright Travel Innovation Summit finalist.
“Eyefor Travel receives hundreds of nominations for all manner of innovative, travel-related technology, and we appreciate the validation of our service as much as the recognition,” said company co-founder and CEO, Drew Patterson.
Checkmate allows hotel guests to check-in remotely, request amenities, indicate room preferences, provide an arrival time, and upgrade their room. With this information, hotels can prioritize housekeeping assignments and organize the time of front desk agents, thereby minimizing down times and expediting express check-in arrangements. CheckMate works with all property management systems (PMS) and requires no new hardware or implementation fees. CheckMate also provides hoteliers with data about their guests from numerous sources, including social media platforms, which can greatly impact service and the bottom line.
Industry experts predict that mobile check-in will be the next innovation to address the growing demand of the world’s one billion-plus smart phone users for services that meet them where they are. Currently, 70 percent of airline passengers report checking-in remotely for flights.
“CheckMate’s innovative mobile solution to improving the hotel check-in process not only puts the customer first, but also provides a potential new revenue stream for hoteliers by allowing hotels to act on the special requests,” said Gina Biallie, general manager, Eyefor Travel, Ltd. “The competition for Best Mobile in Travel Solution was tough, but the win well deserved.”
Eyefor Travel’s awards are presented in four categories: Best Mobile Solution, Best Mobile Travel User Experience, Best Mobile Travel App, and Best Mobile Travel Strategy. Eyefor Travel judges selected a pool of semi-finalists from more than 200 self-nominations. Finalists were chosen based upon industry voting and the judge’s evaluations. Each finalist presented their case to the judges and audience at the conference. Semi-finalists in the Best Mobile Solution category included Revinate, TripNavigator, IDeaS Revenue Solutions and Net Affinity. CheckMate beat Egencia in the final competition.
