Savannah named as Site of 2015 NTA Tour Operator retreat

Contact ’15, slated for Aug. 20–22, will be headquartered at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa, located in the heart of the historical Savannah River District.

LEXINGTON, KY. – Savannah, Georgia, is the site of next year’s Contact, the annual tour operator retreat hosted by NTA. The three-day conference allows tour operators to explore business opportunities, share strategies and engage in professional development—all in an intimate setting that focuses on education and business needs.

Chairing the event is Savannah native Clayton Whitehead, CTP, vice president of Sports Leisure Vacations in Sacramento, California.

“America’s most beautiful city is proud to host NTA’s annual mid-year event, and I’m honored to be the chairman,” Whitehead said. “For me, the common conversation starters, ‘Where are you from?’ and ‘What’s your favorite destination?’ have the same answer: Savannah, Georgia. So I’m thrilled to announce Contact is coming to my hometown in 2015.”

Contact ’15, slated for Aug. 20–22, will be headquartered at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa, located in the heart of the historical Savannah River District. Attendees will visit many of the city’s attractions during scheduled networking events, sightseeing excursions and familiarization trips.

Joseph Marinelli, president of Visit Savannah, said that Savannah is proud to play host to Contact ’15 and NTA tour operators.

“Our destination has been extremely popular with tour operators for many, many years, and this gives us the chance to not only potentially attract new business, but also say thank you to all the customers who have made Savannah a preferred destination on their itineraries,” Marinelli said. “We are definitely going to have some fun together!”

Along with sightseeing and networking, tour operators will engage in education sessions geared toward specific business functions. The education program at Contact features three tracks: CEO/owner, sales/marketing and operations/product development.
