Caribbean Sun Airlines announced some exciting news for the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Starting March 21, the airline will commence four direct flights per week to and from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
We are pleased that negotiations for the establishment of a direct flight to and from San Juan have been successful, said the Honourable Minister of Tourism Ms. Rene Baptiste.
Minister Baptiste said the proposal had the support of the Cabinet since its inception and that the service will improve direct air access to the multi-island destination, giving a boost to tourism. She wished Caribbean Sun good luck and welcomed the airline to St. Vincent and the Grenadines – the Jewels of the Caribbean.
The new service will greatly contribute to the development of tourism in St. Vincent and the Grenadines as the flow of traffic from international destinations through the San Juan hub is expected to increase.
Passengers traveling on sister airline Caribbean Star`s 8B792 flight out of Trinidad, Tobago and Grenada and on the 8B771 flight out of St. Lucia can connect to San Juan from the E.T. Joshua Airport.
Caribbean Sun also flies to Antigua, St. Kitts, St. Maarten, Tortola, St. Thomas, St. Croix, San Juan and Santiago, Dominican Republic.
It`s an excellent route for Caribbean Sun Airlines, said Yolanda Suarez, president of the airline. St Vincent and the Grenadines and the islands in the southern Caribbean will benefit from the service.
