In the fast-changing world of tourism, innovation is transforming tourism business models. The roles of public and private sectors are blurring as information technology and globalization reshape an industry in which new players and new working partnerships are constantly emerging. By tackling the subject of innovation, this seminar touches upon an important dimension of tourism. It provides information about the dynamics and characteristics of innovation, and gives examples of how business models are evolving as a result. It also aims to provide an important contribution to further research and policy work in this area.
The UNWTO Business Council and the UNWTO Regional Commission for Europe are organising this seminar, which aims to build a dialogue between the different sectors, helping to create multi-level partnerships and forge contacts among all members of UNWTO. This process gives the UNWTO Business Council and Affiliate Members the opportunity to contribute to the objectives and programmes of the Organization.
