Fuel to release exclusive early edition of leisure travel study results at HITEC 2019

Leading provider of hotel software and digital marketing solutions to provide sneak peek at critical industry data to attendees of world’s largest hotel technology show.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC and MINNEAPOLIS – Fuel, a leading provider of hotel software and digital marketing solutions for the global hospitality industry, is providing access to an early edition of its much anticipated annual Leisure Travel Study at HITEC 2019 in Minneapolis.

The Leisure Travel Study is a comprehensive analysis of the ever-changing leisure travel landscape, creating a profile of the current leisure traveler and the process they use to book hotel rooms. The Study is published yearly, with this year's edition compiled from more than 2,000 respondents, all of whom planned and embarked on at least one leisure vacation in the past 12 months.

After measuring this data, the results are compared to previous years' responses in order to identify key shifts and trends in consumer behavior that would impact the hotel booking process. This information can be used by hoteliers to increase bookings by better understanding their customer, giving them an edge in crucial booking periods.

Insights from the 2019 results include:

  • Changes in consumer research and booking behavior
  • The importance of online reviews when choosing a hotel
  • Social media's influence on consumer hotel booking decisions
  • The adoption rate of mobile apps and voice-activated devices, and their utilization when booking a room

"Leisure travel is ever-evolving, and this year's Leisure Travel Study taps into the experiences of more than 2,000 travelers, helping us uncover the elements of the booking process that are most important to them," said Stuart Butler, COO for Fuel.
