InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) opened the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Medellin located in Medellin, Colombia. The hotel will be owned by Grupo Suites S.A. de CV, under a license agreement with a company in the InterContinental Hotels Group.
The 19-story, 96-room hotel will be conveniently situated in the La Strada complex, a new mixed-use development with residential, commercial, restaurants and shopping venues located in the upscale neighborhood of El Poblado.
The Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Medellin is the fourth IHG property in Colombia and the second IHG property in the city of Medellin. IHG has had a 38-year presence in the city with the InterContinental Medellin, which celebrated a re-launch in 2006 after undergoing a notable US$ 4 million renovation.
