Aer Lingus announces extensive winter schedule

Aer Lingus’ winter schedule starts at the end of October and runs through to the end of March 2013.

Aer Lingus
has announced its schedule for Winter 2013 including two new routes and increased frequencies on 12 routes.

Flights from Dublin to Toulousewill continue through the winter, for the first time, offering ease of access to ski resorts in the Pyrenees. Flights from Shannon to Lanzarote will start on 26 October and continue through to the end of March, offering customers in the mid-West a perfect winter sun getaway.

In addition, Aer Lingus Regional will operate two daily return flights from Dublin to Newcastle from 24 October.

Frequencies will be increased on a further 12 popular routes such as Lisbon, Malaga, Lyon, Paris, Geneva and Hamburg, to name but some, to meet increasing demand from travellers.

There is significant growth in the long haul schedule. People travelling between Dublin and Boston will benefit from an extra four weekly flights, bringing the total number of services per week to eleven. Flights from Shannon to Boston will operate daily services, year-round, from January.

Aer Lingus is not only focussed on flying customers to and from Ireland but also on improving connectivity for those who wish to travel onwards. There will be more flights from the UK to international destinations, and customers travelling between Europe and America this winter have more choice than before. American cities like New York, Boston and Chicago can be easily reached from Rome, Malaga, Stockholm, Cardiff, Newcastle and Aberdeen, via Dublin Airport.

Aer Lingus’ director of communications, Declan Kearney said: “Today’s announcement supports Aer Lingus’ strategy to provide greater access and choice for Irish customers with over 220,000 seats available a week to and from Ireland. In addition, we continue to grow our transatlantic schedule, with 42 weekly roundtrips – giving greater choice to customers travelling between Ireland, Europe and North America.”

He added: “We are very encouraged with recent figures released by the Central Statistics Office indicating that visitors to Ireland are up 15% from North America, with Mainland European visitors up almost 8%, so far this year.

The Gathering has given us an excellent opportunity to welcome many new customers from around the world on board our services, who have travelled to Ireland to connect with friends and family.”

Aer Lingus’ winter schedule starts at the end of October and runs through to the end of March 2013.
