Alltours focus on Spain and Greece

For summer 2016, Alltours is reducing early booking prices (until January 31) by 2.5% on average while keeping prices stable for bookings from February onwards. It will offer more than 180 hotels exclusively on the German market, including the 45 own-brand hotels, including Allsun, Alltoura and Sunline properties.

Germany’s fifth-largest tour operator, with revenues of €1.5 billion last year, Alltours, will close the current 2014/15 business year (ending in October) with a 2.2% rise to 1.87 million guests (from Germany, Austria, Netherlands and Switzerland) and expects pre-tax profits to increase 10% to more than 40 million euros. Growth was highest in Germany but the other three source markets also grew, the company said.

Owner Willi Verhuven said: “Despite many crises in destinations we have exceeded our targets. We’re very satisfied with this result.” For 2015/16 the company is planning cautiously with a further 1.8% rise in customer numbers to 1.9 million and described winter bookings so far as “satisfactory”.

This summer Alltours generated a 6% rise in bookings for Spain, its top destination, and expects this trend to continue next summer, supported by stable prices for the Balearics and a 3% price reduction for the Canary Islands. “Spain will again generate an increase in customers in summer 2016,” predicted Verhuven. “We have responded with a selective increase in our programme, as we want to continue growing in Spain.” The company claimed that 19% of all German holidaymakers on Majorca this year had booked an Alltours holiday, according to GfK figures.

Greece, its third-largest destination, was a big winner for the company this summer with a 10% rise in guests and the programme will be expanded to 370 hotels next summer. In particular, more hotels will be offered on smaller islands.

In contrast, Turkey, number two destination for Alltours, saw weaker demand this summer due to the impact of the Syria crisis. Moreover, bookings for Tunisia dropped “substantially” this summer following the terrorist attacks there.

Elsewhere, Alltours reported higher bookings for Egypt, Croatia, Portugal, the Caribbean and South-East Asia, along with stable demand for Bulgaria and Cyprus.
