REPORT – IT&CMA-CTW 2007 – BANGKOK: The exhibition for incentive and business travel opened in Bangkok with the participation of 1,300 pre-registered participants. The “Incentive Travel & Conventions, Meetings Asia” (IT&CMA) and the “Corporate Travel World” (CTW) are taking place in an exhibition space of 5,500 sq. m. at Bangkok’s exhibition centre CentralWorld 320, where exhibitors from 30 countries of Asia – Pacific will meet with more than 300 hosted buyers from 40 countries on pre-scheduled appointments.



Mr. Darren Ng, Managing Director of TTG Asia Media, the organizing authority of IT&CMA and CTW, in the opening press conference mentioned how important was for the organisers of choosing the appropriate hosted buyers. From approximately 1, 000 that expressed their interest to participate at the program, the organizers under close cooperation with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thailand Airways choose only 300 to host for this year.



Iran, which participates for the first time as exhibitor, India which has the biggest participation of MICE buyers (19) and Singapore which has the biggest participations of travel managers (23) are among this year’s highlights.



The IT&CMA and CTW has 4 official editions of TTG and is supported this year by 20 editions from Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, India, Italy, New Zealand, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, UAE and United Kingdom while it has two online publications as partners of which one is TravelDailyNews International. In total, 150 international and local media from 28 countries participate at this year’s exhibition.



Important parallel events are being organized at IT&CMA and CTW of which the most significant are:


  • 6th NBTA Global Travel Management Exchange Forum (GTMEF)

  • IMEX-IT&CMA Future Leaders Forum (FLF)

  • ICCA Asia Pacific Business Exchange


Central theme in the 2007 opening event of IT&CMA and CTW is the protection of the environment and the corporate responsibility of MICE towards this issue. Mr. Joel Makover, an environment guru and founder of Greenbiz.com will deliver the keynote speech.
