UK inbound tour operator Discover Travel & Tours has announced the acquisition of the business of the long established US tour operator “In Quest of the Classics” (IQOTC). San Diego based IQOTC, headed up by industry veteran Brian Mundy, provides luxury tailor- made tours of Britain and Europe to top end clients and is a preferred partner of the prestigious US Virtuoso travel agent consortium.
“This strategic move dramatically strengthens our sales presence in world’s leading travel market” said Andrew Grieve, MD of Worcester based Discover Travel & Tours, adding “We are experiencing solid growth in the upscale sector for family and special interest group travel throughout Britain and Europe from the US market and this move clearly marks our intent to grow our business further in this rewarding area”
Said In Quest of the Classics’ CEO Brian Mundy “I am delighted to be joining forces with Discover Travel and Tours at this exciting stage in the company’s growth and, as IQOTC approaches its 30th anniversary, this is a great way to celebrate with the launch of a fresh and exciting range of exclusive luxury tours in Britain and Europe”.
All IQOTC staff based in San Diego and London are being retained – “the experience and skills of IQOTC’s long serving team are a key driver in this merger” said Grieve.
