Edinburg International Conference Centre wins twice at the fifth annual Scottish Event Awards

In 2011 EICC’s Plan-it green sustainable events programme won a cluster of green awards: Highly Commended in the European Foundation for Quality Management  Sustainability Good Practice Awards, Gold Star Highly Commended at the Green Tourism Business Scheme Awards and voted Venue Sustainable Initiative of the Year by the Association of Event Organisers.

EDINBURGH – Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) has taken two top prizes at the Scottish Event Awards 2012, presented by EventScotland. The venue’s Plan-it green sustainable events programme won in both Green and Sustainability categories.

Nominated in three out of thirty categories EICC’s staging of TEDGlobal 2011 narrowly missed out to Edinburgh’s Hogmanay festivities for the Event of the Year award.

Commenting on the awards presented at a ceremony last evening (6 September 2012) in Glasgow, EICC’s Business Excellence Facilitator, Reynaldo Guino-o said:

We are delighted to be recognised for our green credentials because operating sustainably is critical to our business and increasingly important in the venue decision making process for our customers”.
