Firenze Convention Bureau closes 2013 with 17 new international conferences for the next 4 years

Florence will host in the coming years some prestigious international scientific conferences including the ICS Continence Annual Meeting 2017 (September 2017), organized by the International Continence Society conference.

Firenze Convention Bureau closed the 2013 bidding activity in positive: 17 conferences acquired in the course of 2013 , a total of 13,700 participants, 52,700 overnight stays and an estimated economic impact of 14 million euro. Important results that confirm that Florence is becoming a destination of excellence for big international events.

Thanks to the collaboration of Firenze Fiera Congress & Exhibition Center and important local partners, Firenze Convention Bureau focused its strategy on bidding to national and international conferences and events. “We are investing a lot on this activity – as Carlotta Ferrari, director of FCB, said “in order to promote the city and help it to be recognized in the world of the International meetings industry. We try to offer the best solutions and interesting services to our potential client, offering them site inspections, information desks, best hotel rates and a series of online tools and services dedicated to the conference participants and aimed to increase the number of visitors to the city.”

Among the major events won: the WorldVenturesConvention 2013 , an American multilevel marketing company that brought more than 3,500 people at the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence (November 2013), and the World Congress on the Use of Biostimulants in Agriculture ( 17-19 November 2015 ), an important opportunity for discussion on the state of the art high tech agriculture and bio-stimulants -hot topic of the next EXPO 2015-, the International Congress of Acoustics and Vibration (12-16 July 2015 ) and the 18th European Conference on Mobility Management (7-9 May 2014 ).

Florence will host in the coming years some prestigious international scientific conferences including the ICS Continence Annual Meeting 2017 (September 2017), organized by the International Continence Society conference which will focus on issues related to urinary incontinence attracting 2,000 participants from all over the world and the SRNT Nicotine and Tobacco 2017 (5-12 March 2017), the conference organized by the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco, 1,000 participants.
