Following on the huge success of its inaugural wine fair, Frankfurt Airport’s (FRA) popular Destination Wine event returns for a second engagement on November 7 and 8 in the public area of Terminal 1 (departures level). Some 30 exhibitors will be presenting 300 selected wines from vintners around the globe, along with spectacular tastings and other special events. Germany’s gateway to the world will again serve as a fascinating stage for established vintners as well as newcomers breaking into the international wine scene.
Over the two-day wine weekend, visitors of the Destination Wine fair can embark on an international wine-tasting adventure, enjoy an exquisite selection of wines from renowned producing nations like France, Italy, Spain, the U.S.A. or South Africa, and discover hidden treasures from unknown corners of the wine world like Moldova or Israel. Various attractive food specialties will be offered. A professional cheese expert will explain the perfect combination of cheese and wine, while the Caviar House will present great wine with Balik salmon and caviar. Fresh oysters with champagne and cremant will be served at Nordsee’s seafood bar, and Kafer’s will make use of the truffle season to show various “truffle variations” – specialties with the white Alba truffle. For visitors tempted by these delicacies, Guido Giovo’s truffle bar will provide the full black and white truffle selection.
In addition, wine connoisseurs and experts will stroll from booth to booth to present informative 15-minute seminars on the wine assortment at each stand. Participating at the fair costs only 15 euros; tickets and your refundable wine-tasting glass (5 euro deposit) are available at the wine glass counters in departures hall A and B. As a bonus, when ordering wine worth more than 50 euros, you will receive a 10 euro discount. The wine can only be exclusively ordered here from the exhibitors and will be delivered directly to your home.
