Luxury yacht companies target Dubai International Boat Show

The Dubai International Boat Show 2006, organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre, will host many of the world’s luxury boat builders, waterside developers, interior design companies, charters and brokers at this month’s show. Top endcustom yacht builders such as Amels, Azimut-Benetti, CRN/Custom Line, Lurssen and Trinity Yachts will line up alongside property developers including Nakhleel, Dubai Maritime City and Dubai Festival City, in an impressive 2,550 square metre air conditioned area at the Dubai International Marine Club, for what will be the largest exhibition of leisure boats, equipment and services in the Middle East.



“The luxury section of the Dubai International Boat Show will offer visitors and buyers the chance to see what’s on offer from the world’s finest shipyards. The area also highlights the present and future of waterfront developments alongside leaders of the superyacht charter and brokerage industry”, said Helal Saeed Al Marri, director general, Dubai World Trade Centre.



Yacht Manufacturers



Making its debut at the Boat Show will be Italian based, Azimut-Benetti, the world’s largest megayacht production network. Azimut-Benetti, has a yearly output of 45 vessels, ranging from 12 metres to 70 metres in length, which represents over 10 percent of the world’s total production.



American manufacturer, Trinity Yachts, will also exhibit at this year’s Dubai International Boat Show. The company has earned its place as one of the world’s elite builders of custom superyachts with an emphasis on European quality, steel and aluminium constructions.



Another Italian manufacturer with a proud history, attending this year’s Boat Show, is CRN/Custom Line. With a fleet of 118 mega yachts launched CRN is one of the principal world builders of luxury yachts in steel and aluminium. The company builds fully customised mega yachts from 46 to 72 metres under the CRN name, and semi-custom vessels in composite from 29 to 43 metres under the Custom Line name.



From Germany comes Lurssen Yachts which is another of the premiere luxury yacht manufacturers in the world. Lurssen has built some of the most magnificent yachts in history including, the 319’ Carinthia VII, the 315’ Limitless, the 377’ Pelorus, and the 414’ Octopus. Lurssen has also won several awards including the 2004 International Superyacht Design Award for “Pelorus”, in the best power 43m plus category.



From the Middle East, Shama Yachts – the largest privately owned and managed manufacturer of fibre glass motor yachts in Egypt – will exhibit within the luxury services and supplies section of the Boat Show. Sharma’s ethos is to draw upon the first principles of traditional yacht building, and aims to retain the key standards of performance and style, whilst simultaneously moving beyond conventional wisdom to new levels of luxury.



French company Catana will be one of the focal points for catamaran enthusiasts. For over 20 years, Catana has entirely dedicated itself to the construction of fibreglass composite cruising catamarans, producing twin-hull yachts of varying sizes ranging from 13 meters in length to just under 18 metres, as well as custom designed ones.



From New Zealand, Warwick Yacht Design will demonstrate its personalised and total design service. Warwick Yacht Design works on the concept that is developed closely with the client and taken through naval architecture, styling, interior design and project management with the best shipyards around the world.



As well as the yacht builders exhibiting at the Dubai International Boat Show, Dubai Maritime City will display the progress of the world’s largest maritime development. Visitors to the Boat Show will be able to sample how Dubai Maritime City will look and operate once it is compete.



Yacht charters



Alongside the national pavilion area are the leaders of the superyacht charters, build management and brokerage world. Famous international brands like Edmiston, Cavendish White and Fraser

Yachts will offer visitors a multitude of investment options on luxurious properties and yachts. Edmiston has a well established charter history at the show and will exhibit the world famous superyacht, Forty Love at this year’s Boat Show.



Yacht Interior Design



Design of yacht interiors is a multi-million dollar business and several of the biggest names will exhibit at the Dubai International Boat Show, including Greenline Interiors. Greenline is a design, manufacturing and interior contracting company from the UAE, and has a prestigious history in the industry. Another leading player in the interior design industry is Pino Meroni which specialises in the fitting out of luxury yachts. As a leading international manufacturer of high quality joinery furniture and fit-out items, Pino Meroni has become one of the major contenders for projects within the Middle East.



The show will take place from 14th – 18th March 2006 at the Dubai International Marine Club, Mina Seyahi, and is expected to generate even more multi-million dollar business orders and deals for the booming Middle East leisure marine industry.
