The results of the momondo.co.uk analysis show that Britons are beginning to prioritise long-haul travel in winter’s longest months.
A new flight search analysis made by momondo.co.uk shows sunny destinations like Bangkok, Orlando and Johannesburg are amongst Britons’ favourites for travel this January.
The top destination among Britons in January with the most flight searches was New York, out of the travel search site’s top 20 destinations. However in second place, came the warmer Bangkok, followed by Orlando and Johannesburg.
The analysis further shows that as many as 17 destinations out of the top 20 may all either be considerably warmer in temperature than the UK, or even of an exotic climate.
According to Julie Pedersen, Spokesperson for momondo, the results of the analysis show that Britons are beginning to prioritise long-haul travel in winter’s longest months.
“We see more southerly and warmer destinations come up more and more, when we look at the Brits favorite travel destinations for the month of January. In particular, destinations like Istanbul and Dubai gained ground as winter destinations this year,” says Pedersen.
