Qatar Airways to reveal the future of Business Class travel at ITB Berlin 2017

World’s leading airline to unveil a revolutionary new Business Class in March 2017.

DOHA, QATAR – Qatar Airways is set to reveal the much-anticipated evolution to its multiple award-winning Business Class product at this year’s ITB Berlin exhibition, the world’s leading trade fair for the travel industry to be held in Berlin from 8 to 12 March 2017. 

The airline will unveil a brand new Business Class seat in a world exclusive ceremony to be held on the opening day of the exhibition, 8 March 2017, followed by a press conference which is expected to draw more than 200 international media, which is set to further detail Qatar Airways’ plans for the year ahead. 

Guests and visitors to ITB Berlin will be invited to relax in the new Business Class seat at the airline’s exhibition stand in Hall 2.2, booth 208. The booth will offer visitors the opportunity to experience the comfort, entertainment and hospitality offered on board a Qatar Airways flight. 

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker said: “I am delighted to officially announce that this year’s ITB exhibition will be the location at which we will premier our much-anticipated new Business Class product. As an airline we strive to offer our passengers the very best, not only in terms of our world class on board experience, but also our expanding global network. At this year’s ITB I look forward to sharing the revolutionary new patented Business Class seat with the travel industry and worldwide media, alongside many other new and exciting developments to our network.”

ITB Berlin, which is an annual event, showcases a range of travel exhibitors from 187 countries and five continents, providing visitors with information on new products, services and facilities in the tourism industry.

Qatar Airways operates 35 weekly flights to Germany itself, a country that continues to play an important role in the growth of Qatar Airways, departing from Hamad International Airport to Frankfurt, Munich and Berlin from a network of more than 150 destinations worldwide.

Qatar Airways launches service to Skopje
Qatar Airways confirmed the start date of its long-awaited scheduled direct service to Skopje, the capital of the FYROM, with four-weekly flights beginning 17 July 2017.

As the capital of FYROM, Skopje provides a gateway to a country of dramatic scenery, including lakes, mountains and historic towns, while the city itself is home to both Ottoman and European architecture. Visitors to the city can enjoy the National Gallery of Macedonia, while those venturing further afield can visit the lakeside city of Ohrid, which features its own picturesque castle.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker said: “Our new four-weekly service to Skopje is a much anticipated addition to our global route map, connecting leisure and business passengers to and from the Republic of Macedonia. Those travelling on Qatar Airways from this destination onwards to our global network will be able to connect seamlessly through the state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport to destinations such as our recently launched gateways of Auckland, Sydney, Krabi and Windhoek.”

The airline will fly the A320 aircraft direct to and from Skopje on the four-weekly schedule, featuring a two-class cabin configuration with 12 seats in Business Class and 132 Economy Class seats. Passengers can relax with individual television screens with up to 3,000 entertainment options, while those in Business Class will be treated to the World’s Best Business Class service, as nominated by the prestigious Skytrax awards.

Passengers flying from Skopje onwards to any of the more than 150 destinations that Qatar Airways operates will enjoy a quick and convenient transfer at Hamad International Airport, featuring more than 100 retail and dining options and unique services such as a swimming pool, hotel and spa.
