Southall Travel Group appoints new Chief Operating Officer

In his new position, Paul Wait will be working closely with Mr Bahia to guide the business through its ambitious expansion programme through all its major brands.

LONDON, UK – Southall Travel Group, one of the largest independently owned travel companies in the UK, has announced the appointment of Paul Wait in the role of Chief Operating Officer. Reporting to Southall Travel Group Managing Director, Kuljinder Bahia, Paul will join the company in September 2017.

In his new position, Paul will be working closely with Mr Bahia to guide the business through its ambitious expansion programme through all its major brands. Listed 17th in the Sunday Times Top Track 250 of Britain's leading mid-market private companies, Paul’s depth and breadth of Industry experience will greatly assist Southall Travel’s growth. With over 1 Million clients travelling each year, Paul’s wealth of expertise will be invaluable to the Group’s future.

Paul joins Southall Travel from his role as CEO of the GTMC (Guild of Travel Management Companies), the UK’s leading professional industry body representing travel management companies. Prior to the GTMC, Paul’s successful career included senior roles at Virgin Atlantic Airways, where he was General Manager UK – Global and Multinational Sales, and American Express, where he was Vice President, Sales.

Kuljinder Bahia, Managing Director of Southall Travel Group, said: “I am delighted to welcome Paul to Southall Travel as our new Chief Operating Officer. Paul will be based at Southall Travel’s state-of-the-art offices in the exclusive commercial district of Mayfair, London. The company’s corporate headquarters will relocate to Dover Street premises in  May 2017, having previously been based in Iver, Buckinghamshire.
