The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA<.>) is now accepting entries for its annual awards which will be presented this fall during IAAPA Orlando 2001, the association`s annual convention and trade show. These awards honor and recognize the best of the global amusement industry. IAAPA Orlando 2001 will be held November 14-17 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, USA.



Exhibitor Awards



IAAPA`s Exhibitor Awards Program encourages and promotes the development of new products and services in the amusement industry. IAAPA members who exhibit at this year`s show may compete in the 2001 Exhibitor Awards. Entries for the Best Exhibit Awards and the Impact Award will be judged on creativity, professionalism of the staff and the tradeshow booth. The Exhibitor Awards also honor the Impact and Best New Product of a product or service that was operational in a member facility during 2001. Entries for best new product are due to IAAPA by August 17, 2001. Entries for Best Exhibit are due October 31, 2001.



Service Awards



Every year IAAPA honors its members who excel in performing services for the industry and community. The Service Awards honor outstanding individuals who are not only well-known industry figures but also those who are dedicated individuals.



The Service Award Categories for 2001 are:


Meritorious Service Award: This award is given to an individual or organization that has improved the industry`s standing regionally, nationally, or internationally.

Best Promotion Award: The Best Promotion Award is given to an individual or organization in recognition of inventive efforts to promote the industry.

Outstanding Service Award: For service by persons who have constantly fostered a spirit of goodwill and professionalism in the industry.

Over the Years Award: The Over the Years Award is given to persons who have consistently achieved noteworthy accomplishments in the industry.

Public Affairs Award: This award is given to an individual and/or organization in recognition of outstanding efforts on behalf of the industry in the area of public affairs.


The 2001 Service Awards Committee is soliciting applicants for all categories for recognition at this year`s awards.
