Five are presented here in more detail, at the end a complete release list for May 2022 awaits.

Top five game releases in May 2022
Here, as always, we focus on five promising new releases for the current platforms.

Trek To Yomi (May 5)
At the latest after Ghost of Tsushima and Sekiro it should be clear: Games with a setting in old Japan are often damn exciting. Trek To Yomi, out May 5th for PC and current Playstation and Xbox systems, has taken the atmospheric black and white visuals of classic Japanese samurai films and applied them to its action side scroller. As a young warrior Hiroki you go in search of the men who are responsible for the destruction of his home village in the Edo period. The combat mechanics allow the use of fast but weaker attacks and slower, but powerful blows with Hiroki's katana sword. Trek To Yomishould come up with a dense atmosphere and a challenging gameplay.

Warhammer 40,000 Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters (May 5)
Based on Game Workshop's worldwide hit tabletop game, Warhammer 40,000 Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters is a great way to immerse yourself in the massive franchise. Playable on the PC from May 5th, the turn-based strategy game transports its players into the 41st millennium. There, the Order of the Gray Knights is humanity's strongest weapon against an impending cosmic plague. As a player, you build your own group of Gray Knights, strengthen their abilities, improve their base and send them on challenging missions that only tactical skill can survive.

Vampire the Masquerade: Swansong (May 19)
After the planned action RPG Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2 has quieted down, fans can console themselves with the spin-off Swansong for the time being. The narrative-driven RPG puts the player in charge of three characters in the Boston underworld who are tasked with uncovering the truth behind unsolved attacks on vampires. Each character has different skills and talents. The outcome of the game is determined by the player's choices and dealings with the human and vampiric characters. The vampire adventure can be experienced from May 19th on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series and Xbox One.

Evil Dead: The Game (May 13)
Can there be enough zombie games? To be honest: no. It's a good thing that another representative of the genre is appearing with Evil Dead: The Game which will be released on May 13 for Nintendo Switch, current Playstation and Xbox consoles and PC. The name says it all – the cult classic from the cinema has made it into the games world. In co-op you can slip into the skin of one of the characters from the iconic classic Evil Dead by Sam Raimi. And then run for your life. The aim is on the one hand to escape from a demon and on the other hand to track down the reason for his appearance.

Sniper Elite 5 (May 26)
The name says it all: If you want to prove yourself in this game, you have to be good at using the virtual sniper rifle. On May 26th, the fifth part of the main series of the shooter will be released for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S. Again you play a sniper in the Second World War, for the greatest possible realism the development team from Rebellion has teamed up with a military expert Voted. This time, too, tactical action and precision are prerequisites for success in Sniper Elite 5 – which, by the way, is illustrated in a particularly bloody way with the kill cam.
