Plaza Premium Lounge forged partnership with RIOgaleao and now lands at Brazil

Plaza Premium Lounge institutes a new airport experience at Tom Jobim International Airport.

RIO DE JANEIRO – Plaza Premium Lounge forged partnership with RIOgaleao to provide premium airport services in Tom Jobim International Airport, and has recently started operating its first airport lounge in South America by arriving with a proposal to transform the airport experience for travellers departing, transiting and arriving at Rio de Janeiro. The network is managed by Plaza Premium Group (the Group), which holds the title of 2016 World’s Best Independent Airport Lounge by Skytrax and has operations in more than 140 locations across 35 international airports.

The Group has altogether three Plaza Premium Lounges in South Pier and Car Park Building of Terminal 2, welcoming all travellers regardless of their airline or travel class with a total of 570 comfortable seating. Plaza Premium Lounge (International Departures) and Plaza Premium Lounge (Domestic Departures) have already soft-opened last month, whereas Plaza Premium Lounge (Arrivals) is expected to open in October.

These three new lounges reflect Plaza Premium/s philosophy to assure service excellence by perfectly tailoring lounge features to the needs of travellers, transforming their pressure into pleasure during the hours before boarding, after landing or in transit at the airport.

All Plaza Premium Lounges in Rio de Janeiro are part of the city/s portrayal, showing “what being a Carioca is about”. Domestic and international travellers can now have a taste of local culture even upon their arrival or departure from the airport. The vibrant Carioca design is reflected everywhere in the lounges, from the use of furniture, murals, carpet to graffiti artwork, bringing wonderful memories of the Copacabana beach and other landscapes of the city. Special Highlights of Each Lounge
Plaza Premium Lounge (International Departures) welcomes all travellers with an elegant Brazilian-motif decoration and an artistically produced map of South America, in addition to a big carpet reproducing the waves of the famous pedestrian street of Copacabana beach, an icon of the national tourism. The soaring window of this Plaza Premium Lounge brings extra charm by offering a magnificent view over the runway, featuring the best location for selfie with different models of aircrafts at the background. The natural sunlight filters through the lounge and makes the decoration even more beautiful. This lounge has two VIP rooms which are very much preferred by celebrities and heads of State. A terrace is also available inside the lounge, where travellers is welcome to make use of this exclusive outdoor space uniquely featured within the airport.

Plaza Premium Lounge (Domestic Departures) employs a sense of local flavours combined with interesting elements from Brazil. Many in-lounge decorations, especially the graffiti wall, can easily capture the attention of travellers. Check-in for arriving travellers is a breeze, and their luggage will be handled swiftly by guest service officers.

The basic lounge use package of Plaza Premium Lounge (International Departures), (Domestic Departures), and (Arrivals) starts at BRL240, BRL200, and BRL200 respectively for 2 hours. The domestic departure lounge opens daily between 5am and 10pm, and between 5am to 2am every day for the remaining two lounges. Eligible credit card holders and selected lounge membership access programmes will also be granted complimentary access to the above three Plaza Premium Lounges in Tom Jobim International Airport.
