UATP enters a global payments partnership with CAPA – Centre for Aviation

As part of the partnership, UATP will participate in several of CAPA's events, as well as working with CAPA to further the industry and educating the airlines further about the importance of payment strategies within the overall airline distribution strategy.

WASHINGTON and SYDNEY – UATP, the airline-owned payment network, is pleased to announce that they have partnered with CAPA – Centre for Aviation as the official Global Payments Partner.

As part of the partnership, UATP will participate in several of CAPA’s events, as well as working with CAPA to further the industry and educating the airlines further about the importance of payment strategies within the overall airline distribution strategy.

“UATP is a highly regarded payment network, known for their dedication to strengthening their airline Network Members and will be a valuable asset at our aviation events. We look forward to working together throughout the year,” said to Peter Harbison, executive chairman, CAPA.

“UATP is excited about this partnership with CAPA, the leading aviation intelligence provider,” said Ralph Kaiser, president and CEO, UATP. “We both are invested in bettering the airline industry; participating in each other’s events and working together on industry knowledge is a great way to share our expertise with the airlines.”

GiroSolution Collaborates with UATP to offer airlines additional online payment methods
Also, payment logistics specialist, GiroSolution, and UATP, have entered into a partnership that will immediately enable all UATP Merchants to offer and process additional online payment methods via existing infrastructure. The agreement will focus on guaranteed online banking-based e-payment methods, such as giropay, eps and iDEAL. Germany’s second-largest airline, airberlin, is the first airline to take advantage of this payment solution.

GiroSolution’s PSP platform GiroCheckout will work in tandem with UATP’s existing infrastructure to integrate alternative online payment methods with the airlines. UATP is accepted as a payment method by over 260 airlines. This is an advantage for airlines because they do not have to undertake any new, resource-intensive integration, but instead can rely on UATP’s existing infrastructure.

“Thanks to our partnership with UATP, we have significantly expanded the range of services for the GiroCheckout PSP platform which in return has made GiroSolution a highly attractive partner for international airlines,” explained Hermann Stengele, CEO, GiroSolution AG. “GiroSolution specialises in guaranteed online banking-based e-payment methods and deliberately entered into the partnership with UATP to make these technical processes easily available. The fact that we are also the processing partner for this service, rounds off our one-stop offer. We are delighted to have immediately won a high-profile customer, airberlin, who are currently implementing this solution.”

“Our customers are always looking for alternative, country-specific online payment methods,” added Ralph Kaiser, president and CEO, UATP. “We are delighted to have gained a partner in Europe in the shape of GiroSolution, which with its market knowledge and expertise in handling payments, can tailor its services to our customers worldwide.”
