The Galapagos Grand Odyssey has changed its name to M/V Galapagos Sea Star Journey and will undergo a complete overhaul.
ECUADOR AND GALAPAGOS ISLANDS – QUITO, ECUADOR – Latin Trails, an incoming tour operator with base in Ecuador and Peru, announced the rebranding of its signature yacht M/Y “Galapagos Grand Odyssey” to “Galapagos Sea Star Journey“. The yacht has capacity for only 16 guests and offers natural history cruises in the archipelago made famous by Charles Darwin.
The M/Y Galapagos Sea Star Journey is a Premium first class yacht with over-spacious cabins all with private bathrooms and showers, all rooms are located on the upper decks and have ocean views, one of the nicest qualities of the cabins are windows that can be opened allowing the flow of fresh sea breeze as an option if the guest does not like air conditioning. There are connecting cabins which make it an ideal boat for families. All beds are King size and can be converted to be used as twins, each room has a sofa bed that can accommodate a child.
Social areas on board this boutique yacht have a contemporary design aimed at minimalism and refined taste. There is an indoor lounge where evening lectures are offered, a dining room with wooden furniture. The boarding area of the boat has an outside dining table.
Exteriors are built for confort, the Sea Star Journey boasts one of the largest and best conceived sun decks on any boat in the Galapagos archipelago. A combination of queen sized sun beds, loungers, and a shaded area as well as a sunbathing section make it the ideal place to relax and enjoy the volcanic scenery as the boat cruises in between Islands.
The yacht will undergo a majour overhaul which includes installation of new eco friendly motors, replacement of all deck floors, hull repairs and several other maintenance tasks. This will be done between August and October 2015.
