Twenty-six new affiliate members join UNWTO

In addition to the steadily growing member count, more than 80 Affiliate Members were represented at the Assembly, a new record and a testimonial to the strong interest in the UNWTO Affiliate Members Programme’s work to advance tourism partnerships.

The General Assembly has admitted 26 new Affiliate Members into the Organization, bringing the total number of UNWTO Affiliate Members up to 480.

In addition to the steadily growing member count, more than 80 Affiliate Members were represented at the Assembly, a new record and a testimonial to the strong interest in the UNWTO Affiliate Members Programme’s work to advance tourism partnerships.

Through UNWTO membership, Affiliate Members benefit from various networking opportunities and platforms to share knowledge and expertise. Affiliate Membership of the Organization is open to international bodies related to tourism and to commercial bodies and associations whose activities are related to the aims of UNWTO.

Winners of the UNWTO Tourism Video Competition announced
Tunisia, Ecuador, Macao (China), Hungary, Palestine, Maldives and Colombia were the winners of the first UNWTO Tourism Video Competition, organized on the occasion of the 21st UNWTO General Assembly.

51 UNWTO Full and Associate Members submitted their promotional videos to the competition. The regional winners were based on votes by the chairs of the Regional Commissions, while people from all over the world voted for their favorite in the People’s choice category. The winner, Colombia, gained 5823 out of the more than 22 500 recorded votes.
