An immense transformation for a Los Angeles icon sets the standard for hotel guest experience.

LOS ANGELES, CA – Ushering in the next generation of an L.A. icon, the Los Angeles Airport Marriott (LAX Marriott) paves the way for a new age of travel, with the completion of a transformative $44 million re-imagination of the entire property. A flagship hotel in the Marriott brand portfolio, the LAX Marriott re-emerges as an ultramodern hub of Southern California travel, and a stylish destination to make an authentic L.A. connection. The extensive project re-energized the significant Los Angeles hotel with a complete transformation into a sleek, cosmopolitan center of innovation and exploration.

The epitome of classic California resort-style luxury, the timeless LAX Marriott opened in 1973, and has played host to myriad of dignitaries and Hollywood stars, gala celebrations, and countless milestone events. More than 40 years later, the LAX Marriott dazzles with new high-tech and high-touch services, brand new spaces and one-of-a-kind amenities, while also celebrating its roots and the nostalgia of early Hollywood.

Notably, the re-imagined LAX Marriott debuts several new developments, including its M Club Lounge. A sky-high lounge located on the 18th floor of the hotel that features 4,000 square feet of space for Elite Marriott Rewards members to work or recharge. M Club Lounge boasts floor to ceiling glass windows with stunning, panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills, downtown Los Angeles and the runways of LAX. The space is open 24-hours-a-day, and features individual work stations, business center and printing station, as well as chef-crafted culinary offerings including complimentary breakfast buffet, evening hors d’oeuvres, and a full-service bar with local craft beers and curated libations. Guests can upgrade their stay by booking an M Club Room, providing access to the space and its amenities.

One of the largest hotels in Los Angeles County, the LAX Marriott’s 984 re-imagined guest rooms and 20 suites, have been modernized and completely re-fashioned, with a stylish, mid-century design, resort-style bedding, soundproof windows for uninterrupted sleep, 55-inch Smart TV with access to Netflix, Hulu and TED Talks, as well as a variety of charging points, large desks, and oversized chairs.

The new 1,554 square foot Presidential Suite offers the ultimate elite experience with large glass windows overlooking Los Angeles, living room featuring an ultra-modern bar, entertainment room with 4K TV and oversized chairs, luxurious bathroom with spa-style shower, and plush king-bed in a separate bedroom.

It’s an exciting time for travel in Los Angeles,” said Jeff Hart, LAX Marriott General Manager. “Now with two NFL teams calling the city home, planned metro line expansions from LAX Airport, extensive airport modernizations, as well as the slated 2022 Super Bowl and 2028 Summer Olympics, the city is evolving to meet the needs of the modern traveler, and concurrently so is our hotel. We’re paving the way for a new generation of travel, challenging the status quo, and re-defining what it means to be an airport hotel.” The impressive property-wide transformation completely revitalized and re-imagined the iconic LAX Marriott with new technologies, spaces, and amenities available from the moment of arrival, including:

  • NEW Great Room – The Great Room serves as the grand gathering space of the Los Angles Airport Marriott, welcoming guests into an electric marketplace that sparks connection and inspires innovation. A collection of premium outlets, bustling bar, full-service Starbucks, and stylish alcoves for both work and play have been introduced to provide meaningful moments for travelers, and a place to not simply pass by, but to pass the time.
  • NEW Culinary and Beverage Concepts – Keeping glasses raised and conversations flowing, the LAX Marriott’s new food and beverage concepts explore the diverse flavors of L.A., and capture the unique spirit of the city. The re-conceptualized Hangar 18 (previously Champions Bar & Grill) opens in December 2017, and serves as the spirited hub of the Great Room, and features 41 4K TVs, craft beer, intriguing cocktails and delicious bites; while the bustling Social Market & Eatery (previously Latitude 33), is scheduled to open in early 2018, and emerges as a tribute to LA.’s farmer’s markets, providing breakfast, lunch and dinner service for guest to sample local flavors and California-inspired fare; and re-opening in December 2017 after a refresh is the beloved JW’s Steakhouse, which impresses with locally-sourced steaks, sustainable seafood, and a Wine Spectator award-winning wine list, all surrounded by an open-atmosphere kitchen.
  • REFRESHED Resort Style Pool – Outdoors, beneath the Los Angeles Airport Marriott’s “wave of balconies”, an instagram-favorite locale that gives the appearance of an ocean wave, travelers recharge poolside in the California sun at the LAX Marriott’s centerpiece, a tropical, resort-style pool area. The pool, that is the only resort-style pool found at an LAX airport-area hotel, has been refreshed, and is accented by palm trees and lush greens providing natural shade, as well as a large whirlpool, open area for events, and modern lounge furniture.
  • RE-ENERGIZED Meeting Spaces – The Los Angeles Airport Marriott’s meeting spaces capture the L.A. vibe and translate it into a successful and productive event space. Guests can bring their most creative visions to life with over 55,000 square feet of event space all on the same level, side-by-side ballrooms spanning between 10,000 and 12,000 square feet and 25 breakout-meeting rooms, plus locally sourced catering menus.
