Seatrade Cruise Awards announces 2023 winners

As sustainability remains a top priority, the Seatrade Cruise Awards have once again set a precedent by utilizing PEFC-certified Beech wood from renewable sources for the third consecutive year.

HAMBURG, GERMANY – Seatrade Cruise Awards, the premier awards programme for the cruise industry, made its announcement of this year’s winners during the Celebrating Cruise Brilliance: The Speakers Reception & 2023 Seatrade Cruise Awards on 6 September 2023. A record-breaking 145 nominations were submitted, highlighting the industry’s continued growth and innovation.

“The Seatrade Cruise Awards provide a global platform for showcasing leading businesses and individuals destined to shape the cruising landscape for years to come,” said Mary Bond, Group Director of Seatrade Cruise. “We extend our esteemed congratulations to the 2023 winners for their outstanding accomplishments.”

Award winners were judged by an independent panel of 16 judges that feature the leading voices from the international cruise community from key sectors that include hospitality, operations, marketing and technology that range from editors to professors, consultants to principals, managing directors to chief executive officers and are representatives from CHART Management Consultants, Cruise Baltic, Cruise Europe, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Europe, Cruise Planners, Jacoby Advisors, LizGammon.com, Oracle Hospitality, Ocean Technologies Group, MedCruise, Pace University, River Cruise Europe, Seatrade Cruise Review, and V. Ships Leisure.

The winners of the awards are listed below:

  • Award: Port of the Year | Winner: Port of Haugesund (Karmsund Port Authority), Norway
  • Award: Expedition Cruise Initiative of the Year | Winner: Atlas Ocean Voyages – Epicurean Expeditions
  • Award: Product of the Year Award | Winner: Silverstream Technologies The Silverstream System – Air Lubrication Technology
  • Award: Sustainability Initiative of the Year | Winner: MSC Cruises – MSC Euribia, World’s First Net Zero Emissions Cruise
  • Award: Seatrade Cruise Personality of the Year | Winner: Wybcke Meier, CEO, TUI Cruises GmbH
  • Award: Seatrade Outstanding Achievement Award | Winner: Mai Elmar – Executive Director, Cruise Port Rotterdam
