Wizz Air Ukraine expands its operations in Ukraine

Wizz Air announced that it will expand its operations in Ukraine. It will open 2 new routes. One new route will be launched from Lviv to Memmingen, an airport located in the very heart of Bavaria, only 120 km from Munich. This is already the third destination to be operated from Lviv, after Dortmund and Venice-Treviso. The new flight will be operated initially twice a week, starting from December 18th, 2010.

At the same time, Wizz Air Ukraine will enter the Swedish market, flying from Kiev to Stockholm-Skavsta airport, with two frequencies a week initially. This will create a convenient travel opportunity to Scandinavia, at a great value offered by the Wizz Air network.

“We are certain that these new destinations will be as popular as the flights we are already operating. This move expands further the Wizz network allowing more Ukrainian passengers to chose our great services offered at unbeatable prices. Munich-Memmingem is welcome news to many Ukrainian families who have connections and relatives in South-West Germany. The Stockholm-Kiev air-bridge will support the fast growing business and leisure passenger flows between these important regions.” Said Dementiev Sergii, Managing Director of Wizz Air Ukraine.

Wizz Air Ukraine started its operation in July 2008. The airline’s fleet currently consists of 2 Airbus A320 aircraft operating from Kiev (Borispol) airport. Wizz Air Ukraine has carried more than half a million passengers in the last 12 months.
