Well wishes and a gracious welcome were bestowed upon the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions from the Governor of Georgia, Sonny Perdue and Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin for the IAAPA Attractions Expo 2005 Annual Conference and Trade Show, the association announced.

Southern Hospitality and sophisticated charm are what the Atlanta region provides, said J. Clark Robinson, president and CEO for IAAPA. We want to extend that welcome to our attendees and exhibitors to share in the goodwill of our tradeshow.

At the IAAPA Attractions Expo 2005, amusement and attraction industry leaders, decision makers and visionaries gather to view and explore new amenities for their facilities. Being held November 14-19, 2005, the Expo, will fill more than 1 million gross square feet of the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, Georgia, with more than 1,100 exhibitors showcasing new products like games and devices, souvenirs, foods and beverages, rides and more.

In welcome letters received by Governor Perdue and Mayor Franklin, the elected officials bequeathed high praise on the IAAPA Attractions Expo 2005 and IAAPA.

I am delighted to welcome industry professionals, members of the Association and other attendees from around the country and Georgia to our capital. Atlanta, one of the top convention destinations in the country, is a beautiful city providing many attractions, including fine dining, historic sites and various recreational facilities, Governor Perdue stated.

This year`s expo will feature a plethora of educational opportunities including information about the latest entertainment technologies. Participants will have the opportunity to buy products, network with professionals from small and large attractions and learn some of the best practices to give their attractions the extra edge. Successful amusement parks and attractions enhance the city`s economic development as well as provide entertainment for its residents, visitors and tourists, Mayor Franklin stated.

IAAPA estimates attendance at the IAAPA Attractions Expo 2005 to be more than 28,000. As the amusement industry`s largest worldwide gathering, the Expo offers a week of fun and significant business set between eight miles of trade show floor aisles, educational sessions from basic to advanced, behind the scenes tours, and networking opportunities.

The trade show is closed to the general public. Only exhibitors, attendees, and credentialed media may attend.
