Following its environmental program, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is to introduce Sustainable Summer – a new program that will encourage the company’s colleagues from all corners of the globe to put the concerns of the planet at the forefront by commuting to work on Friday, June 22, 2007.

The Sustainable Summer initiative is a fun and tangible way for all Fairmont employees to think globally while acting locally.

“Being located in both a National Park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we have a very strong commitment to the environment,” says David Roberts, Regional Vice President and General Manager of The Fairmont Banff Springs. “The Sustainable Summer initiative supports conscientious, responsible tourism, and we are proud that our colleagues are taking positive steps to preserving this precious natural resource.” Colleagues are encouraged to walk, bike, hike, car pool or any other environmentally-friendly mode of transportation.
