The aim of the awards is to recognise and support the efforts of those who promote the handing down of gastronomic tradition, local specialised fare and products as well as biodiversity in food.
The head of Greece`s slow food association said that five awards will be handed out each year to those who exemplify the culture of good food. This year`s event will take place in Bologna, Italy on October 23-24.
