Posadas’ sustainable tourism program promises to carry out impactful environmental, social and economic contributions throughout its operation.
MEXICO CITY, MX – Posadas present Meaningful Travel, a program to promote sustainable tourism and reaffirm its commitment to respect the planet, support local communities, and be an impactful force in the growth of today and tomorrow’s generations. Through this program, hotels under the brands Live Aqua, Grand Fiesta Americana, Curamoria Collection, Fiesta Americana, The Explorean, Fiesta Inn, Gamma, and one, will implement efforts that allow the preservation and care of flora, fauna, land, atmosphere, and oceans for the present and the future of new generations.
As a fundamental entity impacting the tourism industry, Posadas has adopted measures and best practices to protect and care for nature, the environment and promote sustainable tourism. Meaningful Travel seeks to preserve natural resources and care for the environment, social well-being, and economic growth for the future by fostering local consumption to further develop communities where the company's hotels operate.
Posadas has laid the foundation of an integrated strategy that contributes competitiveness and sustainability through compliance and alignment with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in its three main pillars: environmental sustainability, social sustainability, and economic sustainability. For the environment area, Posadas takes part in the fight against pollution and climate change through programs like solar water heaters, LED lighting and plastic reduction programs; in the area of social sustainability, the hotelier provides physical and emotional wellness programs for its staff, safe workspaces in compliance with official norms, and programs for the development of the communities where the company's hotels operate among others; and in the economic area, promoting economic growth and development under a clear institutional frame in which management, innovation, growth, gender equality, skill development, and nonpolluting technology converge via business innovation programs, fair operation practices and more. Finally, Posadas' sustainability efforts also include the Posadas Foundation, which has been supporting health, education, disaster relief, and volunteer work for local communities over the last 16 years. The Foundation has also participated in campaigns such as the Spotlight initiative by the European Union and the Unite Nations, where Posadas contributed by providing complimentary housing for women and their children who are victims of violence. Additional actions include implementing standards to eradicate single-use plastics in its hotels, for example, by replacing shampoo and soap amenities with dispensers. As a result of all these actions, Posadas’ hotels have received awards and recognition of its good practices, such as the Green Key distinction, for its commitment to the environment and social responsibility.
