I am delighted that Preben Vestdam has decided to join RCI`s executive team to help ramp up our efforts and bring new services and products to the world of vacation ownership in the European region, said Ken May, president and CEO, RCI. His broad experience and established track record in strong leadership roles will undoubtedly help RCI Europe focus on the future, growth and new initiatives for our industry throughout Europe.
Vestdam`s background includes travel experience with American Express Services Europe Ltd, where he served Vice President, Head of Rewards and Usage, Europe. In this capacity, Vestdam led the product development and management of loyalty and rewards programs for American Express cards in Europe. In addition to American Express, Vestdam held the position of Director of Marketing for Club Mediterranee SA, where he was in charge of marketing the Club Med Holiday Resorts in the European Market. One of Vestdam`s earliest positions was with the Danish subsidiary of IBM, where he managed business-to-business sales in the financial services sector.
A native of Denmark, Vestdam is fluent in English and French, and also speaks German and several Scandinavian languages. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics from the Copenhagen School of Economics, Denmark, and a Master of Science in Economics, specializing in International Economics and International Business from the International Institute of Management Development, Lausanne, Switzerland. Vestdam will be based in RCI`s Hammersmith, London office.
