TMS Academy joins forces with HFTP Asia Chapter

Hot on the heels of its entry into the global training arena with Design Hotels, TMS Academy has now signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the highly respected Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) Asia chapter to provide its members with access to UK-based sector specific executive level training programs.

Under the terms of the MOU, TMS Academy will administer the training programs which will be provided by the internationally recognised British Association of Hospitality Accountants (BAHA).

The first BAHA course, a financial management program, is scheduled to take place in Singapore in December.

HFTP is an international professional association dedicated to providing the hospitality finance and technology community with networking, resources, and continuing education.

HFTP Asia chapter focuses on current education issues in the hospitality industry including finance and technology.

BAHA is a non-profit educational organisation formed in 1969 with the aim of educating hospitality industry professionals involved in financial management, revenue management and IT.

The organisation is recognised as the United Kingdom’s authoritative voice in the hospitality industry on financial management, technical accounting issues, taxation, and hotel valuation.

BAHA provides industry specific hospitality finance education programs and is currently developing similar programmes for revenue management and IT within the sector

TMS Academy CEO Andrew Chan said the BAHA courses had been designed to place a strong focus on the practical skills and real-world expertise both required and applicable in today’s fast-paced travel, tourism and hospitality landscape.

“The HFTP MOU signing and our ability to now be able to offer the very well-respected BAHA programs further underlines our stance as one of the very few executive search organisations actually in position to offer dedicated hospitality and tourism related training programs on an international basis,” he said.

HFTP Asia President James Lee said his organisation was delighted to be able to introduce the BAHA financial accounting training program to its members in partnership with TMS academy.

"The success of a business can be objectively measured in financial terms,” he said. “This new partnership marks an important milestone in the advancement of hospitality financial training in the Asia region.”
