36% of international flyers will not fly internationally again until a vaccine is available. 1 in 4 (26%) Americans will wait for a vaccine before they spend another night in a hotel – for business or leisure.

In a survey conducted by Azurite Consulting for Peak Prosperity, 4,500 people worldwide revealed the specific changes in behavior and sentiment the coronavirus is causing in US households. The key findings show that it’s going to take quite a while for life to go back to “normal.”

Travel highlights of the survey include:

  • International flights: 36% of international flyers will not fly internationally again until a vaccine is available
  • Domestic flights: domestic travel will not be much better, with 30% of your domestic travel companions waiting until a vaccine is available
  • Cruise Ship: 25% of avid cruise goers say they’ll never take a cruise again. 65% will wait at least until there’s a vaccine. 55% of those waiting will delay their next cruise until at least one year after the vaccine is out.
  • Hotels: 1 in 4 (26%) Americans will wait for a vaccine before they spend another night in a hotel – for business or leisure. 

Recreational Activates closer to home will also be hit with lasting impacts

  • Sporting event: 44% won’t attend a live game until a vaccine is issued, 63% of these people will wait at least another 3 months after the vaccine is out to attend
  • Dining out: 53% won’t be comfortable going to a sit-down restaurant for at least three months after social distancing ends. 38% will wait at least five months. 24% won’t dine out until there’s a vaccine. 15% will wait three or months after a vaccine.
  • Theater/Opera/Concerts: 41% won’t return to a theatre, opera or concert again until there is a vaccine
  • Casinos: 45% don’t plan to go until a vaccine is available. 35% of these people will wait at least six months after vaccine release before going back.
  • Theme parks & Aquariums: 38% of Americans won’t return until there’s a vaccine.
