From January to August 2022, 2.945.552 passengers were handled at Katowice Airport; 48.2% of them (1.420.630) travelled on charter flights.

"In August, we have achieved a result similar to the one from July. Moreover, the three-millionth passenger in 2022 was handled at Katowice Airport on 3 September. Previously, we have achieved such a result a relatively long time ago, namely: on 15 August 2019. Afterwards came the pandemic and the biggest crisis in the history of aviation, which resulted in a drastic breakdown in traffic. Thankfully, passenger traffic is visibly recovering in 2022. Therefore, we're maintaining our forecast which indicates that we will conclude 2022 with approx. 4.5 million handled passengers," said Artur Tomasik, President of the Board of GTL SA, the company managing Katowice Wojciech Korfanty Airport.
