San Diego Tourism Authority promotes Candice Eley to Director of Communications

In her new role, Eley will take on community relations and crisis management responsibilities while continuing to lead the public relations department, which works to generate editorial coverage on what makes San Diego one of the top visitor destinations in America.

The San Diego Tourism Authority (SDTA) announced that Candice Eley has been appointed by the SDTA to the role of Director of Communications.

In her previous role leading our public relations efforts, Candice has helped guide our PR strategy, leading to the SDTA’s most successful year ever for editorial media coverage of the destination,” said SDTA President and CEO Joe Terzi. “She is a well-respected, innovative and engaged communications professional who will help the SDTA grow awareness for the important work that we do.”

In her new role, Eley will take on community relations and crisis management responsibilities while continuing to lead the public relations department, which works to generate editorial coverage on what makes San Diego one of the top visitor destinations in America.

Eley has more than 12 years of communications experience and holds a master’s degree in Media Studies from The New School. She currently serves on the Marketing Committee for the NTC Foundation and the Promotions Committee for the El Cajon Boulevard Business Improvement Association. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and a past member of the Balboa Park Marketing Committee and San Diego Museum Council.
