Sports stars and their private jet collections

Here are some of the world’s top athletes who have vowed never to set foot in a check-in queue ever again.

The life of a globally popular sports star is luxurious to say the least, but when you are expected to be on four continents in the space of a week, navigating the ins and outs of a public airport can get a little draining.

That is why the biggest stars splash the extra cash it costs to fly private, with many using exclusive airlines.

However, for the elite that still is not enough, with many preferring to have their very own jet, captain and flight crew who are all at their back and call.

Here are some of the world’s top athletes who have vowed never to set foot in a check-in queue ever again.

Floyd Mayweather
When your nickname is “Money” you are either exceedingly rich or a bit of a joker. It could be argued that this undefeated boxer is a bit of both, but when he travels, he always does so in style.

When he takes to the skies, he often takes both his private jets with him; one for his own personal use and another for his entourage.

Lewis Hamilton
The recent Italian Grand Prix aside, Lewis Hamilton can usually be counted on to deliver an F1 race win or a drivers’ championship for those willing to punt a sports free bet or two on the Brit.

When speed is your game it pays to have a jet that lives up to expectations, and Hamilton’s certainly does that and then some, costing the reigning F1 champion no less than $25 million.

Tiger Woods
Everyone likes to talk about the self-inflicted hardships that Tiger Woods has suffered in his personal life, but one thing is for sure – a private jet is one hell of a handy way to get away from it all.

Perhaps that is part of the reason he has made such a successful return to the sport of golf.

Roger Federer
Even a machine like Roger Federer knows that he cannot go on playing forever, and so this amazing tennis player has been going out of his way to maximize his revenue streams of late, before he bows out of the sport he has dominated for so long.

He has also taken time out of his schedule to acquire a private jet, which means that when he does play a tournament he turns up fresh and well rested.
