The penthouses at Ian Schrager’s The Madrid EDITION, offer two of the largest suites in the city

Providing the ultimate urban sanctuaries to the world’s most discerning guests, the Madrid Penthouse and the Opera Penthouse are each arranged across two floors.

On the top floor of Ian Schrager’s urban resort, The Madrid EDITION, in a prime spot with west-facing sunset views, sit two of the largest and most exclusive Penthouses  in the capital.

Providing the ultimate urban sanctuaries to the world’s most discerning guests, the Madrid Penthouse and the Opera Penthouse are each arranged across two floors with glorious views of some of Madrid’s most prominent architectural landmarks from the bedrooms on the upper floor and the lower floors featuring entertaining spaces designed by John Pawson and Francois Champsaur under the watchful eye of Ian Schrager, and butler’s kitchens. The dark oak-panelled entrances leads to light-filled muted palettes of whites and creams, alongside custom-made furnishings and natural textures of linen, limestone and timber. Together, this forms an honest and discreet canvas for sophisticated furnishings, rich details and creative flourishes like the dramatic backlit bed headboards, which have been custom made in plaster and takes its cues from the elaborate shape of the hotel’s baroque portal. “I am very proud of this project. Not a single detail has been overlooked and the finished product has created a unique and magical concept that will be unrivalled in the city” says Schrager.

The Madrid Penthouse is a sprawling 460sqm private residence perched above the city’s rooftops with an unrivalled panoramic terrace and a private outdoor infinity pool surrounded by lush greenery and views of Madrid’s historic city center, the Gran Via most iconic building Plaza España and Plaza de Las Descalzas. The refined interiors are rich with natural textures and elegant furnishings like the leather and wood daybed by lifestyle brand BassamFellows and a large eight-seat travertine marble dining table with lacquered metal feet. This penthouse can be combined with an adjoining suite to create a two bedroom private enclave. The master bedroom features a stunning walk-in-wardrobe for those travelling in style with a backdrop of picture perfect views of the city.

The Opera Penthouse is arranged across a generous 289sqm  and can be combined with two adjoining suites to offer a three-bedroom city escape. Like the Madrid Penthouse, the Opera Penthouse also offers private access to a secluded terrace and infinity pool, with alluring breathtaking skyline views of the city including  architectural landmark Palacio Real, Teatro Real.

Guests staying in The Madrid EDITION’s Penthouses will be transferred to and from the hotel in the in-house luxury limousine as well as having access to the luxury motor throughout their stay. Penthouse residents will also experience the exclusive Penthouse Wellness offering which includes the EDITION Signature Massage. Focusing on the body’s needs, this hour-long treatment uses a nourishing blend of oils featuring the EDITION brand’s signature Black Tea scent by Le Labo, a rich and complex aroma designed to tap into feelings of wellbeing and comfort. For those looking to maintain or evolve their fitness routines, bespoke personal training sessions in the privacy of the Penthouse or in the state-of-the-art gym are also available.
