Zurich is one of Europe’s most accessible cities, with a futuristic and vastly efficient 21st-century airport reachable nonstop from the U.S. by Swiss International Airlines, American, Delta and United.

NEW YORK – Zurich Tourism, the tourism promotional arm of Switzerland's largest city, has appointed Geoffrey Weill Associates to undertake its public relations program in the United States.

"Long thought of as the city of somber banks and somber bankers, Zurich is actually one of Europe's most charming and lively cities," says Geoffrey Weill, "and we will be concentrating on underscoring the city's romantic Altstadt (old town), its chic shopping, its world-class dining, its magnificent museums, its eclectic nightlife and its gorgeous location between the mountains and Lake Zurich."

Zurich is home to more than 400,000 people and known for its easy navigation on foot, streetcar and subway. The city is bisected by the River Limmat, whose shores are ideal for strolling, cafe-sitting and shopping. A city of ancient churches, world-class hotels, contemporary museums, Christmas markets, jazz clubs and Europe's first opera house to boast electric lighting. Zurich's most famous street is the Bahnhofstrasse, whose stores have names from Switzerland's Bally, Lindt, Sprungli and Rolex to the world's Apple, Hermes, Tom Ford and Louis Vuitton. Zurich has a vibrant gastronomic scene – 15 of the city's restaurants have one or two Michelin stars, and the city is known for its amazing chocolate stores. Lake Zurich is ideal for cruises, swimming and sailing. The city is also a major destination for LGBTQ travelers and in June hosts Pride Zurich. Every August, it is home to the world's largest Techno Party, known as Street Party.

Zurich is one of Europe's most accessible cities, with a futuristic and vastly efficient 21st-century airport reachable nonstop from the U.S. by Swiss International Airlines, American, Delta and United. And the city's centrally located main station is the perfect hub for excursions to Switzerland's picture-perfect countryside, lakes and Alpine retreats.
