A new ground breaking welcome to Norway

The new installation will give travelers both an audiovisual and emotional impression of what Norway has to offer within culture, nature and trade.

OSLO, NORWAY – Innovation Norway and Avinor, want travelers arriving to Norway to feel welcome, and have developed a spectacular art installation and a ground breaking 3D animation movie to do exactly that at Oslo Airport. The new art installation, which will be launched on the 18th of June, aim to give visitors to Norway a warm welcome and to create great expectations of their stay in Norway.

The new installation will give travelers both an audiovisual and emotional impression of what Norway has to offer within culture, nature and trade. To develop the ground breaking 3D installation, Innovation Norway and Avinor, have used renowned Norwegian designers, the music is composed by the famous Norwegian composer, Nils Petter Molver.

“We create valuable connections. We connect Norway together with the rest of the world, this is something we wanted this project to reflect,” says Dag Falk-Petersen in Avinor.

Innovation Norway is excited to have developed both a modern and different welcome to Norway. They expect the new art installation to be seen by an estimated million people each month.

“We hope visitors will be impressed by and like the new presentation of Norway. We hope this will create curiosity about what we have to offer and at the same time give a modern and different impression of our country,” says Anita Krohn Traaseth, the CEO of Innovation Norway.

A new gateway to Norway
The new launch at Oslo Gardermoen airport is part of a bigger national project, called “Gateway to Norway” and will be launched at all the biggest airports in Norway by September. The installations will change in order to reflect the changing seasons and regions in Norway.

“We wanted to create a gateway to Norway which reflects our country and culture in a new and modern way and hopefully meets and exceeds people’s expectations when they arrive,” says Krohn Traaseth and Falk Petersen.
