If you haven`t been to China, don`t hesitate, plan to go now to the World Leisure EXPO in Hangzhou where a number of major events will be staged – the 100 Cities Exhibition, the 9th World Leisure Congress, the World Leisure Summit and, to celebrate achievement, the World Leisure Innovation Prize. The Inaugural Prize Awards – Gold Standard, Silver Standard and Bronze Standard – will be presented at the lavish EXPO Opening Ceremony on 22 April 2006.
The World Leisure Innovation Prize seeks to attract, recognize and promote the best examples of innovations, large or small, from across the world. Leisure is considered in its broadest sense, including play, recreation, the arts and culture, sports, festivals and celebrations, health and fitness, travel and tourism, whether programmes, schemes, services, equipment or `amenities`, outdoor or indoor.
The Innovation Prize is open to any organization – public, voluntary or private, whose innovative scheme, having been operational for two years or more, has advanced the promotion, management or participation in leisure for the good of the community.
