CAPA Middle East and Africa Aviation Summit in Dubai, alongside Airport Show, in April

Event under His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum’s patronage. Air Arabia, flydubai and Gulf Air CEOs among speakers.

DUBAI – Dubai will host the CAPA Middle East and Africa Aviation Summit, alongside the 19th edition of Airport Show, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) from April 29 to May 1 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airlines and Group.

The confirmed speakers include: AACO, Secretary General, Abdul Wahab Teffaha, Air Arabia CEO, Adel Ali, Asyad Airports former CEO, Waleed Youssef, Aviation Minds Managing Partner, Nadine Itani, flydubai CEO, Ghaith Al Ghaith, Gulf Air CEO, Kresimir Kucko, Kenya Airways CEO, Sebastian Mikosz, Royal Jordanian CEO, Stefan Pichler, Travelport’s Global Head of New Distribution, Ian Heywood, Turkish Airlines CMO, Ahmet Olmustur, and Yemen Airways Chairman, Capt. Ahmed Masood Al-Alwani.

CAPA – Centre for Aviation is the world’s most-trusted source of market intelligence for the aviation and travel industry. Established in 1990, CAPA’s platforms help the aviation sector and supplier businesses stay informed, remain connected to industry leaders and fuel inspiration to drive change. CAPA is the largest multimedia information and services provider for the global aviation, aerospace, and defense industries, serving 1.7 million professionals around the world.

Through this event, it is set to expand its reach to the Middle East and Africa. The Summit will examine the commercial and operational issues affecting airlines and airports in both developed and emerging markets. It will challenge leaders of the Middle East and African (MEA) aviation industries to reflect on what is needed to drive it forward, using examples of innovation in outside markets as a benchmark to follow.

Remarked CAPA Chairman Emeritus Peter Harbison: “It is important and timely that CAPA bring the brand of informative and educational summits to the Middle East and Africa. Both regions are going through important change and development, and like all our events, we will seek to tap into these changes and address the key issues impacting the regions.”

The Summit will begin with regional spotlights determining the issues impacting each location and opportunities to improve growth. Complementing this will be a mix of aviation, macroeconomic, travel and geopolitical topics across a range of keynotes and interactive panel discussions.  Like their peers elsewhere, carriers in the Middle East face ongoing challenges to their business models. Competition from ambitious new entrants such as the Chinese carriers are threatening the big three Gulf carriers’ position as the chief global superconnectors, who are themselves recalibrating their market positioning.

Delegate passes and sponsorship slots are now available. To avoid disappointment, attendees are advised to register as soon as possible before delegate passes sell out. Early Bird tickets are available until March 28, while special rates are on offer for group bookings. Limited complimentary airline passes are for full time direct employees of scheduled airlines and media representatives.
