BD4 and Etihad Airways partnership recognized for best use of AI

Representatives of Etihad Airways and BD4 receive the Travolution Award for Best Use of Artificial Intelligence in an event in London on 24 November 2022.

AI-driven profiling and decisioning platform claims back-to-back wins at the Travolution Awards.

FRANKFURT, GERMANY – For the second year running, and the fifth time in total, BD4 – the travel industry’s leading AI-driven real-time profiling and decisioning platform – was named a winner at the prestigious Travolution Awards 2022.

At a gala event in London on Thursday 24 November, the German-based company won the award in the category ‘Best Use of Artificial Intelligence’ for its work with Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates. The airline also claimed an award in the category ‘Best for Flying’ for its work in optimizing digital touchpoints.

Working with Etihad, we’ve been able to showcase the positive impact enhanced digital touchpoints have on a business. Through its work with Etihad, BD4 has developed a new AI capability to address users individually, successfully targeting users who would otherwise not have purchased and offer them a tailored incentive, eliminating the need to give incentives to every user. By avoiding unnecessary discounting, the airline was able to streamline its booking process, increase revenue per user at a lower cost, and optimize budgets of their incentive programs.

The Travolution Awards recognise the finest achievements in the online travel and travel technology sectors. Other winners in 2022 included TUI, Blue Bay Travel, On the Beach, and Hays Travel.
