My Trip File launch helps travelers prepare for emergencies

Announcing the launch of My Trip File, a private Internet online file system, that can be accessed by travelers in case of an emergency. My Trip File was started by travel agent, Tanya Eldert, who wanted a way for her clients to easily access their private trip information should their papers or documents get lost while they were traveling. Travelers can now quickly link to important trip information and travel documents using a private, secure file through the Internet or smart mobile device for only $10 per trip or travel agents like Mrs. Eldert can get a low-cost package to use on behalf of their clients.

“Good travel professionals know this is a service industry and we are always looking for ways to provide value to our clients. Travel agents can set up an account for only $17 per month that can provide private files for up to 50 clients at a time”. Mrs. Eldert feels that her clients really appreciated the extra protection and easy private access to their important documents. "It is a great service that agents can personalize and it will only cost them about .30 cents a client!"

“I actually developed My Trip File after Hurricane Irene came through the Caribbean and the cruise ships had to leave passengers on San Juan when the ships were told to leave early. I have traveled to the Caribbean several times and I kept thinking what would I do without my papers and documents.” According to Mrs. Eldert, on most cruise excursions travelers are encouraged to leave your original passport in your cabin safe and go ashore with just the ship issued ID card. “If my documents were in My Trip File, I could walk into any hotel or Internet cafe and print up a copy of my passport in minutes, as well as have all my insurance papers and confirmation information available at the click of a button. It may not completely replace the original papers, but at least I would have some documentation and not just snorkeling gear and a ship card.”

My Trip File is expected to grow significantly as more agents and travelers learn about this option. With more people cruising and leaving the US, Internet solutions like My Trip File can be key in support people as they travel abroad. According to the US Department of Transportation cruise ship passengers climbed to over 2.7 million passengers just cruising in North America, this is almost a 10% increase from 2009. Some of the contributing factors include more families going on cruises, bigger ships, and the fact the cruise lines will lower their prices to try to fill the ships before departure.

Travelers are enjoying vacations abroad and exploring the world, despite the fact that things can go wrong. "The best thing they can do is plan for fun, but be prepared if something goes wrong. My Trip File is a great low cost way to be prepared.

My Trip File is powered by Egnyte’s secured servers and a video and My Trip File and package information for travelers, agents and travel agencies can be found at MyTripFile.com.
